Description
We are offering a short term contract position for a Systems Administrator in the Manufacturing industry, located in Newark, California. The role will primarily involve remote work, with occasional on-site visits. As a Systems Administrator, you will be responsible for monitoring infrastructure, maintaining operational services, and improving the efficiency of existing workflows.
Responsibilities
Use specific tools, such as SolarWinds Orion, for effective system monitoring and alert management.
Ensure the smooth operation of services, including the management of printing services.
Handle tasks independently, reducing the need for reliance on entry level administrators.
Focus on patchwork and vulnerability management, testing patches before implementing them in production.
Improve the efficiency of existing workflows through automation and recommendations based on experience.
Administer Exchange Online, manage SMTP relays, and possibly transition away from hybrid configuration.
Occasionally address escalated end-user issues.
Maintain and manage the existing VMware infrastructure.
Develop and manage scripts for automation tasks such as Power CLI scripts for version checks, VMware tools upgrades, and monitoring environment settings.
Assist in security measures by helping with the remediation of penetration test findings.
Requirements
Demonstrated proficiency in Cisco Technologies
Solid understanding of Citrix Technologies
Experience with Cloud Technologies, notably for system administration tasks
Familiarity with Dell Technologies and their application in manufacturing environments
Proficiency in Firewall Technologies for security management
Experience with AB Testing to ensure optimal system performance
Knowledge of Active Directory for user and resource management
Expertise in Backup Technologies to ensure data safety and integrity
Ability to perform Cluster Analysis for system optimization
Strong knowledge of Computer Hardware suitable for a manufacturing environment
