Job Description:

  • This position will be In-Person
  • Work schedule: Monday - Friday 8AM-5:00PM - At the manager's discretion
  • The AMI Data Analyst is a technical role responsible for managing and ensuring the seamless flow of data from 1.6 million customer meters through the Advanced Meter Infrastructure (AMI) to the Alabama Power Company (GPC) billing systems.
  • This position plays a critical role in maintaining the availability and quality of data from AMI Systems, including Sensus RNI and MDM - C2M, to CSS and other dependent systems for billing and various internal and external applications.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and ensure the continuous availability and high quality of AMI data.
  • Oversee the operation of systems and databases, ensuring they are functioning correctly and reporting data accurately.
  • Identify and address potential operational issues affecting data transmission.
  • Collaborate with team members to prepare daily analyses of AMI system performance.
  • Foster strong relationships and clear communication with partner organizations, including the Technology Organization, Billing Services, Power Delivery, and Metering Services, to ensure timely data provision and optimal customer service.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong technical skills and experience with AMI systems, databases, and data analysis.
  • Ability to analyze complex data sets and identify trends and issues.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with various teams and stakeholders.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook A four-year degree in business, computer systems, or engineering is preferred This role is essential for ensuring that meter data is accurately and efficiently processed and delivered to necessary systems, ultimately supporting the company's commitment to providing excellent service to its customers.
