Job Title: Senior Software Engineer SQL Server / Data Integration

Job Type: Full-Time - Contract (Up to 2 Years)

Location: Elk Grove, CA (Onsite or Hybrid must be able to work onsite as needed)

Job Summary:

We are seeking two experienced Senior Software Engineers with a strong background in Microsoft SQL Server database development, optimization, and data integration. This role is ideal for professionals who are analytical, proactive, and thrive in environments where they can evaluate, modernize, and improve enterprise data infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and document existing SQL Server database architecture and identify areas for improvement.
  • Design, develop, and maintain SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, views, and functions to support data-driven applications.
  • Build and manage frameworks used in data remediation projects.
  • Participate in data migration and system upgrade efforts.
  • Monitor and tune database performance at the server level.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including knowledge transfer materials.
  • Adhere to established coding standards and participate in code reviews.
  • Provide on-the-job knowledge transfer to internal technical teams.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in SQL Server database development and administration.
  • Proven expertise in performance tuning and optimization of SQL databases.
  • Strong experience with developing complex queries for reporting and data analysis.
  • Familiarity with data migration, ETL processes, and large data environments.
  • Ability to document database architecture, processes, and configurations clearly.
  • Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and coding best practices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in government, healthcare, or highly regulated environments.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft SharePoint for project documentation.
  • Exposure to HIPAA or data privacy/security standards is a plus.

  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the U.S.
  • TB testing and background checks (Live Scan) may be required prior to start.
  • This is a long-term contract opportunity with potential for extension.
