Job Title: Senior UC Architect

Location: Dallas, TX (Hybrid role)

Contract Length: 6-12 months

Job Description:

We are seeking an accomplished and results-driven Senior UC Architect to join our team on a remote basis for a 6-12 month contract. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing, deploying, and managing large-scale Cisco Unified Communications (UC) systems. This role requires a deep understanding of IP telephony, network architecture, and upgrading hardware, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality solutions that enhance system performance and availability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Deployment: Lead the design and implementation of large-scale Cisco UC networks, including IP telephony and IP communications systems. Develop and deploy E.164 dial plans, SIP trunk integrations, and call flow designs for enterprise environments.
  • Migration and Integration: Manage the migration of legacy PBX systems to Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) and other Cisco platforms. Oversee the integration of Cisco UC solutions with Microsoft Teams, Webex, and other collaboration tools.
  • Security and Troubleshooting: Implement security measures such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and VPN solutions. Rapidly troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues to ensure system reliability and performance.
  • Project Management and Leadership: Work with cross-functional teams in the execution of UC projects and upgrades, including the development of strategic planning and Method of Procedures (MOP) creation. Provide technical guidance and updates to leadership on the progress of execution plans. Lead cross-functional teams in the execution of UC projects, including the development of strategic plans, response to RFPs, and vendor contract negotiations. Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to ensure project success.

Qualifications:

  • Certifications: Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) in Voice/Collaboration, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP).
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Cisco Routers/Switches, Unified Communications Manager, SIP trunks, Voice Gateways, Cisco IOS, and network security tools. Experience with Linux and Windows systems.
  • Experience: Extensive experience in UC architecture, network engineering, and security administration. Proven ability to design and implement large-scale Cisco networks with a focus on high availability and performance.
  • Education: Bachelor s degree in Computer Information Systems or related field.
