Job Details
One of our clients is looking for a Data Center Engineer (VXLAN).
Hourly: Open - Depends on experience
Duration: 2 years
Please Note:
- Clients are based in TX and OH
- This is 90% remote, 10% occasionally visit the client (expenses paid)
Scope:
The client has expressed that it would be best to leverage experienced resources to ensure a successful design and implementation of the VXLAN EVPN Fabric, along with NDFC.
Given the complexity and strategic nature of the work, having two dedicated resources for this period will be critical to guide architecture decisions, migration planning, execution, and knowledge transfer.
Responsibilities:
DC Network Architecture:
- VXLAN EVPN vs. traditional VPC (ACI is an option but not currently preferred).
- VXLAN BGP EVPN fabric design anycast gateway vs. firewall-connected routing.
- Current lean toward VXLAN BGP EVPN for scalability and east-west efficiency.
DC Interconnect & Migration:
- VXLAN Multisite vs. legacy L2TPv3 options; OTV to support legacy apps and VLAN continuity.
- Seamless interconnect across North Canton, Richardson, and Dallas.
Cisco NDFC Deployment:
- Cloud vs. on-premises management; separate management pod vs. embedded deployment.
