The Position:
Client: Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Office of Administration Enterprise Information Security Office (OA-EISO)
Position Title: OA-EISO - Firewall Administrator FA2 (775174)
Location: Hybrid; Remote Off-Site and On-Site in Harrisburg, PA
Duration: Initial term through 06/30/2026 (+ Annual Renewal in 1-Year Terms)

Note: This role is hybrid; 2 days on-site, 3 days remote off-site per week, may be adjusted according to the manager's direction and operational needs. Candidates must be a current Pennsylvania resident; within a reasonable commuting distance (2-hours/100-miles +/-) of Harrisburg, PA.

This role will be responsible for designing and optimizing secure, scalable, and resilient network solutions across enterprise environments. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical foundation, vendor-specific knowledge, and the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams to drive strategic initiatives.
- Design and architect secure network infrastructures aligned with business and security requirements.
- Evaluate and implement firewall technologies, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and secure communication protocols.
- Conduct risk assessments, vulnerability analyses, and threat modeling to inform architectural decisions.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and security teams to ensure seamless integration of network and security solutions.
- Lead incident response architecture and contribute to post-incident reviews and improvements.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance on vendor-specific technologies and best practices.
- Document architecture designs, standards, and procedures for internal and external stakeholders.

The Skills and Experience:
- 5+ Years: Network fundamentals (TCP/IP, subnetting)
- 5+ Years: Firewall technologies and architectures (stateful inspection, next-generation firewalls, L7 filtering)
- 5+ Years: Security protocols (IPSec, SSL/TLS)
- 5+ Years: Network monitoring and analysis tools (Wireshark, network analyzers)
- 5+ Years: Intrusion detection and prevention systems (IDS/IPS)
- 5+ Years: Command line interface proficiency
- 5+ Years: Log analysis and SIEM tools
- 5+ Years: Vendor-Specific Knowledge: Palo Alto, Check Point, VMware NSX-T, Zscaler
