Description: About the Role
We are looking for a seasoned Test Architect with deep expertise in performance engineering, virtualization strategies, and Point of Sale (POS) systems. This role is critical to modernizing retail technology used by millions of customers daily, enhancing both customer experience and associate productivity.
You will work closely with senior leadership, engineering and product teams, agile delivery groups, and business stakeholders to define scalable testing strategies, architect robust quality solutions, and drive excellence in software delivery.

Description: About the Role
We are looking for a seasoned Test Architect with deep expertise in performance engineering, virtualization strategies, and Point of Sale (POS) systems. This role is critical to modernizing retail technology used by millions of customers daily, enhancing both customer experience and associate productivity.
You will work closely with senior leadership, engineering and product teams, agile delivery groups, and business stakeholders to define scalable testing strategies, architect robust quality solutions, and drive excellence in software delivery.
Minimum Qualifications
- 8+ years in quality engineering, including 3+ years in a test architecture role
- Proven experience leading performance and testing strategies across large-scale systems
- Hands-on expertise with POS systems and retail technology platforms
- Strong coaching and enablement skills to drive adoption of modern QA practices
- Proficiency in tools such as Karate, Selenium, REST APIs, JMeter, Neoload
- Experience in Agile/DevOps environments and CI/CD test automation
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience with cloud-native testing environments
- Familiarity with service virtualization tools (WireMock, Parasoft, Mountebank)
- Strong analytical skills to translate metrics into actionable insights
- Background in synthetic test data generation and test data management
Testing Strategy & Architecture
- Define and evolve enterprise-wide quality engineering strategies with a shift-left approach
- Architect scalable automation and monitoring frameworks across platforms
- Lead performance initiatives including load modeling, diagnostics, and optimization
- Implement service virtualization to simulate complex retail environments
- Drive adoption of cloud-native test environments and virtual services
- Apply deep knowledge of POS systems, transaction flows, and integration points
- Test retail endpoints, peripherals, and store-level infrastructure
- Mentor engineering teams on modern testing strategies and frameworks
- Develop training programs and workshops to scale quality practices
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation
- Create risk-based testing strategies aligned with release cycles and business goals
- Optimize test coverage and resource allocation for speed and reliability
- Performance Testing: Neoload, JMeter, LoadRunner, profiling tools
- Service Virtualization: WireMock, Parasoft, Mountebank
- API Testing: REST, GraphQL, SOAP; Karate, Postman
- Test Automation: BDD, Selenium, CI/CD pipelines
- Test Data Management: Synthetic data generation, masking, provisioning
