Job Description:

Project Scope:
  • The Civil/Mechanical Superintendent for Solar projects acts as the Owner's representative, overseeing the civil and structural aspects of solar plant construction. This role ensures that the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractor adheres to all safety, quality, schedule, and performance expectations as defined by the EPC's Scope of Work and contractual commitments.
  • No direct reports but will be onsite facilitating work and managing a variety of different needs on the project


Team Size & Breakdown:
  • Will be working alongside engineering firms that are physically building the site, variety of companies involved in the project and this person will be working amongst a variety of these different groups.


High-Level Individual Duties:
  • Safety and Compliance: Review safety documents and policies, ensure SWPPP (Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan) is installed and maintained per permit.
  • Contract and Document Review: Review contract documents, civil/mechanical drawings, and specifications.
  • Scheduling and Planning: Ensure EPC schedules pre-construction meetings for new tasks, review civil/mechanical checklists.
  • Field Supervision: Perform daily field walks and observations with field crews, attend EPC safety, craft tailgates, and management meetings.
  • Quality Assurance: Perform QA/QC inspections and walkdowns on construction activities, monitor Unifier uploads by EPC, complete QA/QC inspections in Unifier per frequency and activity completion.


Must-Haves (Concepts & Tools):
  • Organizational Skills: Excellent organization, scheduling/planning, and progress reporting abilities.
  • Communication: Effective communication with contractors management and third parties.
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, data entry, and uploads.
  • Mechanical experience with Structural steel OR Civil engineering
  • 4+ years of Light industrial exp- AKA exp. Working bigger projects
    • Not targeting folks that are working on residential solar projects- (safety standards do not translate)
  • OSHA safety knowledge, does not need certified coming into the role.


Nice-to-Haves:

Solar or Batteries- would be highly preferred
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with environmental regulations and compliance.
  • Leadership: Proven leadership experience in large-scale industrial projects.
  • Project Management: Experience with project management software.
