What You Will Do:

The Full Stack Java Developer will work closely with clients, digital leaders, solutions architects and technical/functional leads across Guidehouse digital teams and market segments to support client projects and provide solutions for growth efforts and capabilities build out.
  • Serve as a key member of development team to support technical challenges/demos, building innovative solution prototypes using Java enterprise architectures and modern software technologies.
  • Solutions architecture and hands-on engineering/full-stack development of scalable and secure distributed systems using Java technologies, Spring ecosystem, microservices architecture, containerization, and API-First design patterns.
  • Work collaboratively with user experience designers, platform engineers, product owners, solution architects, and business analysts to design, build, test, and deploy high-value, operationally resilient software products that satisfy functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Support application modernization including migration from legacy systems to modern Java frameworks and cloud-native architectures.

What You Will Need:
  • Bachelor's degree. Additional Four (4) years of experience will be needed in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum of Six( 6) years of prior relevant experience in full stack Java application development.
  • Three (3)+ years of experience with enterprise Java applications development and modernization.
  • Proven ability to work autonomously and collaborate, mentor, help, and support other team members, as needed to solve complex technical problems.
  • Proven ability to develop software product and solution prototypes and use prototypes to validate technical solution strategies and communicate and explain the pros and cons of complex design alternatives.
  • An in-depth understanding of the Agile and Scaled Agile practices and principles experience.
  • Must be an experienced Agile practitioner with proven ability to plan and implement software products with agility.
  • Experience and proficiency implementing frontend and backend services for enterprise software products and solutions including:
    • Backend: Java 11+, Spring Boot, Spring Security, Spring Data JPA, REST APIs
    • Frontend: React, Angular, or Vue.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3
    • Databases: DB2 or Oracle,
    • Application Servers: Tomcat, JBoss/WildFly, or similar
    • Build Tools: Maven, Gradle
    • Testing: JUnit, Mockito, Selenium, Jest
    • Containerization: Docker or Kubernetes
    • Message Queues: Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, or ActiveMQ
  • Familiarity with enterprise design patterns (MVC, Repository, Factory, Observer) and proven ability to design and build scalable software products that conform with enterprise architecture principles.
  • Proficiency in delivering enterprise software products using contemporary CI/CD pipeline tooling (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps) and ability to continuously collaborate with development, operations, and security (DevSecOps) team members to deliver secure and operationally resilient software products and solutions.
  • This is a hands-on software developer/engineering position and requires the ability to proficiently and predictably build and deploy custom Java applications.
  • Proven ability to design, build, test, and deploy software products and solutions using modern Java technology stack.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to handle customer requirements and engineer solutions.
