Senior Business Analyst

We are again supporting a government agency who are looking for a Business Analyst to join their team.

You will collaborate with the Engineering team on a variety of projects to offer analysis including; complex systems analysis to complete software analysis, design, and test activities for all phases of this solution implementation project. The projects will include data rationalization projects, Software projects, and some reverse engineering legacy applications to modernize.

This will be a six-month contract with the potential for extension to 12 months +

The position is a remote role but will require you to be based in Texas to qualify.

What you will do

• Document detailed system requirements (functional, technical, EIR accessibility, and Security).
• Write and revise user stories in collaboration with business owners and technical teams.
• Perform systems analysis to include the creation of business process maps, conceptual models, object and use case models, and system architecture diagrams to support project needs.
• Review, analyze, evaluate, execute, and develop test cases and scenarios based on business and system requirements to ensure traceability.
• Design quality assurance test plans and coordinate user acceptance testing.
• Works in cooperation with the project team to identify and document software defects

Skills

• 7-8 Years experience in a Business Analyst role
• Experience preparing and executing test plans
• Experience with Software Development Life Cycle management software like HP Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) or Atlassian
• Comfort Data gathering from different sources
• Microsoft Office, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint and SharePoint

Bonus points

• Experience in both Waterfall and agile environments
• Previous government agency experience is very welcome
• Any experience with adult education, learning program services, or workforce development programs
