Job Description:
Apex Systems is seeking Critical Systems Technicians to support the operation and maintenance of essential infrastructure systems in a high-availability environment with a large technology company in Wisconsin. This role combines expertise in HVAC, electrical power systems, and building automation to ensure reliable performance and uptime.
Pay rates will vary based on qualifications, certifications, and experience, ranging from $40-$55/hr.
The schedule will be M-F with core business hours *may require occasional weekend work.

Job Description:
Apex Systems is seeking Critical Systems Technicians to support the operation and maintenance of essential infrastructure systems in a high-availability environment with a large technology company in Wisconsin. This role combines expertise in HVAC, electrical power systems, and building automation to ensure reliable performance and uptime.

Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain HVAC systems including chillers, CRAC units, and cooling towers
- Monitor and maintain electrical systems including UPS, generators, switchgear, and PDUs
- Troubleshoot and repair issues across HVAC, electrical, and control systems
- Manage and support Building Automation Systems (BAS) and Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS)
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance
- Respond to alarms and support incident resolution
- Maintain accurate documentation of system performance and maintenance activities
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams on system upgrades and improvements
- Ensure compliance with safety and operational standards
Required:
- Experience with HVAC systems and mechanical cooling equipment
- Knowledge of electrical distribution systems and backup power infrastructure
- Familiarity with BAS/EPMS platforms and facility monitoring tools
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Preferred:
- EPA Universal HVAC Certification
- OSHA 10/30 Safety Training
- NICET, EGSA, or similar technical certifications
- Experience in data center or mission-critical environments
