Role: Project Manager - Data Program Initiative
Duration: 6 month contract
Location: US remote
Summary of Position
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead our data program initiative. This role requires expertise in project management methodologies, data program execution, and executive communication.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead, facilitate, coordinate, and track day-to- day activities required to ensure the project is completed on time, successfully, and in a manner consistent with organizational goals, departmental policies and established processes
- Full understanding of project management methodologies
- Develop detailed project plan(s), timeline, and resource allocation for each migration phase.
- Create repeatable project assets including but not limited to agendas, meeting minutes, project plans, status reports and executive read out
- Successfully manage the scope of the project, including internal priorities
- Demonstrate a proactive approach to identify risks to project success; develop effective action plans for remediation and resolution
- Appropriately manage / escalate project issues or risks
- Demonstrate effective communication skills, verbal and written, with internal customers, project teams and leadership
- Use of all governance tools (scope document, project status reports, risk and change logs, tollgates, etc.), for all assigned projects, to effectively manage all projects
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to address potential migration challenges.
Qualifications Expected for Position
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- Proven experience as a Project Manager with a focus on data program initiative preferred
- Experience with health benefits, health and wellness, health plans or systems
- Strong understanding of data program initiative, tools, and best practices
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills to manage multiple aspects of the project concurrently
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Proficiency in project management software and tools for planning, scheduling, and reporting
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent is a plus
- Prefer 3 to 5 years of software related project management
- Business Case Tracking- Conduct comprehensive business case tracking, capture requirements, and validate program justification with stakeholders
- Agile Team Management - Track team performance at scrum level, facilitating daily standups, sprint planning, and retrospectives while removing impediments
- Executive Reporting - Provide regular status updates to leadership on program progress, risks, milestones, and resource requirements
- Framework Development - Build comprehensive framework for tracking progress, managing backlog, and providing ongoing support to delivery teams
- Stakeholder Management - Coordinate with cross-functional teams, vendors, and business units to ensure alignment and successful delivery
- Risk Management - Identify, assess, and mitigate program risks while maintaining detailed risk registers and contingency plans
- Quality Assurance - Implement quality gates and validation processes to ensure deliverables meet business requirements and technical standards
- Budget Management - Monitor program budget, track expenses, and provide financial forecasting to ensure cost-effective delivery
- Change Management - Lead organizational change initiatives related to data processes and system implementations
- Documentation - Maintain comprehensive program documentation including project plans, status reports, and lessons learned
- Resource Coordination - Manage resource allocation across multiple workstreams while optimizing team capacity and productivity
