Job Description:
L3harris is seeking digital design and verification engineer to support our development of tactical communication products. The candidate will function in an FPGA developer/verification role, working in a cooperative team environment to design, verify and test embedded FPGA firmware for radio communication systems. Successful candidates must have experience with RTL development using VHDL, as well as coverage-driven FPGA verification methodologies using SystemVerilog. Candidate will be required to analyze requirements, create FPGA specifications/development plans, create FPGA verification/test plans, code firmware designs in VHDL, code test benches in System Verilog, and verify designs meet requirements. Candidate will work with cross functional teams to develop and verify FPGA designs for radio product development projects.
Essential Functions:
Contribute to high level FPGA design and requirements analysis for communication systems
Design, develop, modify, and evaluate FPGA designs for communications systems.
Assist in development of high-level and detailed verification test plans consistent with system requirements and specifications
Develop coverage driven, self-checking test benches for FPGA design verification of requirements using SystemVerilog and UVM verification techniques
Document FPGA designs using block diagrams and interface design specifications.
Work with cross functional teams to define, develop and verify FPGA design solutions for communication systems.
Prepare design and implementation reviews. Present technical briefings and status to internal and external customers.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
Experience developing and verifying FPGA/ASIC based embedded system solutions.
Proficient in FPGA/ASIC development using VHDL or Verilog
Proficient in FPGA/ASIC verification using SystemVerilog
Experience with FPGA Vendor Specific FPGA Implementation tools (Vivado/Quartus)
Experience with scripting languages (Bash, Perl, Python, Tcl)
Preferred Additional Skills:
Experience in communication system signal processing theory and waveform design
Familiarity in working within Linux OS
Working knowledge and experience in testing and debugging of MODEM RF Designs
Experience with MatLab, Simulink or similar DSP modelling tools
Experience in UVM/OVM methodology
Demonstrated ability to analyze and debug FPGA firmware and related hardware issues
Ability to work efficiently with remotely located teams and co-workers
Solid verbal and written communication skills
STEM degree
Motivated, self-starter, who works well in team environments
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in New York state is $79,000 - $146,500 This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
