Description:
Position Title: Senior Software Engineer
Duration: 1+ Years
Location: Johnston, IA
Required Skills and Experience
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with Node.js and TypeScript
- Strong background in the design, development, testing, and integration of complex software solutions
- Proficiency in software test automation techniques, including Test Driven Development (TDD) and frameworks such as JEST and Mockito
- Demonstrated success as a technical lead within a development team
- Experience working with relational databases such as SQL Server, DB2, or PostgreSQL
- Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or similar
- Knowledge of modern development practices including:
- Source control
- SOLID principles
- Containerization
- Secure coding
- CI/CD pipelines
- Experience in designing and developing service-based architectures, microservices, and RESTful APIs
- Proven experience working in an Agile Scrum team environment
- Versatility across multiple tech stacks
- Hands-on experience with deployment tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, Jenkins, and GitHub Actions
- Understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts
- Experience with AWS services such as ECS or Lambda, and/or relevant AWS certifications
- Background in application modernization from on-premises to cloud environments
- Familiarity with security protocols like OAuth2 and OpenID Connect
- Experience with hosting technologies including Linux, serverless architectures, and Docker
- Strong grasp of object-oriented design patterns
- Excellent interpersonal communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
- Passion for product quality and a commitment to craftsmanship
