About the role
The Uber Engineering Boost Fellowship is a unique, 10-month opportunity for engineers with non-traditional backgrounds to launch their software engineering career. Fellows gain hands-on experience, mentorship, and the chance to build and scale a product used globally to move real people and assets, with the ultimate possibility of converting to a full-time role afterwards.
What You'll Do
You will participate in a structured, 10-month program in the San Francisco Bay Area with two phases:
- Phase 1 (3 months): specialized engineering training
- Phase 2 (7 months): embedded within an engineering team, contributing to real-world projects.

What You'll Need
- Graduate from ASU (Arizona State University) between 2020-2024 through the Uber-ASU partnership for Uber earners with a bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology, or data science
- Ability to code small projects in any programming language
- Ability to work full-time (40 hours per week) from January 26, 2026 - December 4, 2026
- Ability to work in-person at an Uber Bay Area Office (San Francisco/Sunnyvale, California)
- Less than 6 months of full-time experience as a software engineer
- Eligible to work in the United States
