Overview
TalentFish is casting a line for an IT Technical Specialist. This is a contract-to-hire role located in Canton, MA. This is an onsite position that may require occasional visits to Concord, MA (1-2 times per month).
The IT Technical Support Specialist will provide on-site end user IT support, manage lab environment systems, and assist with PC builds and troubleshooting. You will be the sole onsite support technician and be required to work independently. You will be guided and fully supported by a US-based team and manager that supports multiple office locations.
What You Bring to the Role (Ideal Experience)
- Minimum of 5 years IT support experience in a Desktop or Technical Specialist role.
- 2-4 years of IT support experience in a corporate environment, particularly with desktop refresh processes, break fix, and ticketing.
- Excellent end-user support and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong hands-on skills building and refreshing PCs.
- Strong technical proficiency in Microsoft products (Windows 11, Office 365, and AV support), and familiarity with Lenovo hardware, diagnosing and resolving issues.
- Familiar with ServiceNow ticketing system.
- Knowledge of basic networking principles and infrastructure.
- Ability to work independently and manage tasks without continual daily supervision.
- Strong communication skills and remote collaboration skills.
- Proficiency with ServiceNow or similar ITSM platform.
- Experience providing mobile device support a PLUS.
- Experience working in consumer products or healthcare environments a PLUS.
- Experience working in lab environments and understanding of lab support needs a PLUS.
What You'll Do
- Provide daily on-site end user support in a traditional lab environment in Canton, MA, supporting approximately 120 users.
- Provide occasional on-site support in Concord, MA (1-2x per month) in a Human Factors usability testing environment supporting approximately 20 25 users.
- Collaborate remotely with Manager and the broader U.S. IT team to streamline workflows and uphold exceptional service standards.
- Desktop Support and Troubleshooting
- Provide technical support for desktop systems, including Windows 11 and Office 365, ensuring quick resolution of issues.
- Troubleshoot user and system issues including hardware, software, and networking.
- Build and refresh PCs as needed for lab and office environments.
- Handle break/fix scenarios and ticket overloads using ServiceNow for efficient ticketing and issue tracking.
- Conference Room Equipment
- Support conference room equipment, primarily utilizing Microsoft Teams, will be a minor part of this role.
- Assist with data migrations and refresh cycles.
- Participate in weekly meetings with Manager to provide updates and feedback.
Compensation and Employment
This role requires authorization to work in the U.S. without current or future visa sponsorship. The expected hourly rate for this position is $30 - $40 W2 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
