Role: SAP MRP Run Specialist

Location: Anderson, SC

Job Type- Part time- (Remote/travel)

We are seeking an experienced SAP MRP Run Specialist to manage and optimize Material Requirements Planning (MRP) activities within our SAP ERP/S/4HANA environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for executing planning runs, ensuring timely material availability, and supporting procurement and production processes through accurate system-driven proposals.

This role is critical in maintaining the balance between supply and demand, minimizing shortages and excess inventory while supporting production and sales requirements efficiently.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Run and Monitor MRP:
    • Execute MRP runs (MRP Live or Classic MRP) using transactions such as MD01, MD02, MD03, MD04, or relevant Fiori apps.
    • Analyze planning results and adjust parameters to improve planning accuracy.
  • Ensure Material Availability:
    • Monitor and manage material availability to support production schedules and customer delivery timelines.
    • Resolve exceptions and shortages identified during MRP runs.
  • Generate Procurement Proposals:
    • Review and validate automatically generated procurement proposals (purchase requisitions, planned orders, schedule lines).
    • Collaborate with Purchasing and Production to convert proposals into actionable orders.
  • Master Data Integrity:
    • Ensure correctness and completeness of MRP-relevant master data including Material Master, BOMs, Routings, Source Lists, and Info Records.
    • Maintain planning parameters such as MRP type, lot-sizing, safety stock, and lead times.
  • Issue Resolution & Support:
    • Investigate MRP-related issues (e.g., missing proposals, planning discrepancies).
    • Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to troubleshoot and resolve root causes.
  • Reporting & KPIs:
    • Generate reports on material availability, planning accuracy, and order proposals.
    • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts through analysis and feedback.


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, IT, or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in SAP MRP, SAP PP/MM, or related functional consulting.
  • Strong understanding of SAP MRP logic, planning strategies, lot-sizing, and procurement cycles.
  • Hands-on experience with transactions: MD01/MD02/MD04, ME51N, COHV, MD05, etc.
  • Experience with S/4HANA MRP Live and/or Fiori apps (advantageous).
  • Knowledge of material master data, BOMs, work centers, source lists, and vendor management.
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
