Our client is looking to hire Sr. Control-M Engineer role is a 6+ month contract in Chicago, IL (2 days onsite), supporting and improving the Bank's scheduling/orchestration tool while leading the migration from self-hosted Control-M to Helix Control-M SaaS. The position requires expertise in configuring workflows/jobs, troubleshooting, CI/CD pipeline integration, and applying best practices for orchestration efficiency. Candidates should have experience with AWS hybrid environments, strong collaboration skills with business and IT stakeholders, and familiarity with BMC migration tools. Prior Helix Control-M SaaS experience will be given priority.

The Sr. Control-M Engineer will join a team of infrastructure and automation engineers to help maintain, support, and improve the Bank's scheduling/orchestration tool (Control-M). The Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago utilizes hybrid cloud architecture, so experience working across self-hosted AWS servers and SaaS applications is strongly preferred. This position will also be part of a project team tasked with migrating from the self-hosted Control-M system to the Helix Control-M SaaS product.

The ideal candidate will be able to explain an orchestration workflow, identify benefits and pitfalls of the existing architecture, and make recommendations to improve efficiency when provided with documentation and access to the stack. Additionally, the candidate should have strong soft skills for interacting with business stakeholders and engaging in collaboration across IT teams.

Primary duties include:

Experience configuring Control-M workflows and jobs

Ability to re-configure orchestration workflows using Bank documented best practices

Upgrade application versions and Virtual Agents

Implement jobs as code using CI/CD pipelines

Troubleshoot issues using logs and error messages

Manage independent work using agile practices and ceremonies

Comfort embedding with delivery teams to help reconfigure their Control-M workflows/jobs to match Bank standards

Experience using BMC migration tools from self-hosted to SaaS

Ability to satisfy Helix Site Standards and convert global variables to local pool variables.
