About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Process Consultant specializing in Project Accounting and Record-to-Report (R2R) to lead process optimization, redesign, and transformation initiatives. This role will focus on construction project accounting processes covering budgeting, costing, billing, and revenue recognition while also driving R2R improvements and ensuring seamless integrations with financial systems.
Key Responsibilities
Primary Project Accounting (Construction Projects):
  • Redesign and optimize end-to-end Project Accounting processes, including:
    • Project Budgeting & Forecasting
    • Project Costing & Expense Tracking
    • Project Billing (Fixed Price, T&M, Milestone)
    • Revenue Recognition (per IFRS/US GAAP standards)
    • Project Analytics & Profitability Reporting
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify gaps, bottlenecks, and automation opportunities.
  • Implement best practices for cost control, compliance, and financial reporting in construction project accounting.
Secondary R2R and Integrations:
  • Support R2R process improvements with a focus on General Ledger, Period Close, and Consolidation.
  • Design and oversee integrations between Project Accounting and ERP/financial systems.
  • Ensure data consistency, accuracy, and reconciliation across systems.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Bachelor s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business (CPA/MBA preferred).
  • 15+ years of experience in Project Accounting and Process Redesign, ideally within construction/engineering sectors.
  • Strong expertise with project-based ERP systems (Oracle, SAP, MS Dynamics, etc.).
  • In-depth knowledge of IFRS/US GAAP revenue recognition standards.
  • Proven track record in process transformation and system integration initiatives.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and documentation abilities.
