UC4 Engineer ? Database Administrator (Advanced)

Interview Process: 2 rounds, virtual
Duration: 9 months with extensions
Work Location: 100% remote
Candidate Location: Open nationwide; must work EST hours. Some travel for onsite client meetings (?25% / once per quarter). Travel expenses are the responsibility of the candidate.

Scope of the Project

Extremely complex development projects undertaken by CCIT for upgrades and operations of UC4 Medicaid Management Information Systems, inclusive of mainframe and client-server applications.

Position Summary

Seeking a Senior UC4/Automic professional with strong Linux experience and excellent communication/interpersonal skills to perform application management support for the UC4/Automic Operational Manager enterprise scheduler. Responsibilities include technical analysis, incident management, reporting, upgrades, and shared Linux systems administration.

Daily Duties / Responsibilities

Clemson Computing Information Technology (CCIT) Medicaid Information Technology Services (MITS) is seeking a Senior UC4/Automic professional with the knowledge and experience including the Linux operating system along with comparable communication and interpersonal skills to enable success on this high-visibility project. Position will perform application management support for UC4/Automic Operational Manager enterprise scheduler. Position will be required to provide technical analysis, incident management, reporting and perform upgrades. Position will also perform some Linux systems administration on a shared team.
  • Provide application administration support for enterprise scheduling applications.
  • Develop monitoring solutions to assist application admin support.
  • Develop reporting for job runs and batch environments.
  • Triage real-time production incidents; perform root-cause analysis of batch job issues.
  • Manage upgrade/migration efforts related to existing jobs.
  • Integrate UC4 with Linux, Windows, and Mainframe environments.
  • Collaborate with Job Scheduling team; provide training on standards, escalation, diagnostics.
  • Develop disaster recovery solutions for job scheduling; ensure high availability of UC4/Automic.
  • Develop/enhance automation scripts (JCL, Bash, PowerShell, Perl, Java).
  • Provide expertise in Control-M and Autosys.
  • Manage patch levels; plan product upgrades.
  • Document job scheduling policies/procedures; develop/update admin/operational reports.
  • Provide 24/7 on-call support on a rotating schedule and other duties as assigned.


Requirements

Education / Certifications

  • Bachelor?s degree in a technical, business, or related field (Master?s desirable).
  • Certifications: None required; UC4/Automic certification preferred.

Required Skills (ranked)

The Senior UC4/Automic role has four major attributes: system administration, software development leadership, people skills, and domain knowledge in enterprise class multi-tier application development projects. Candidates must display excellence in all areas.
  • 5?7 years UC4/Automic experience in Linux and Windows environments.
  • 5?7 years supporting UC4/Automic using Oracle and SQL databases.
  • 5?7 years performing successful UC4 upgrades in production.
  • 5?7 years programming/scripting (JCL, PowerShell, Perl, Java).
  • 2+ years with Control-M and Autosys scheduling tools.
  • Understanding of IT development and implementation projects.
  • Strong written/oral communication; ability to present to project management; strong English proficiency.
  • Impeccable integrity; confident decision-making and willingness to speak up.
  • Willingness and ability to effectively engage with people and organizations continuously.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in Red Hat?based environments.
  • Experience programming with Bash.
