Our client is an innovator in providing mid-market ERP solutions along with next-generation technologies that empower companies to achieve their full potential. Specializing in mid-market ERP solutions and expertise across finance, accounting, operations, workforce management, and customer experience, our client serves as a trusted advisor to small and mid-sized companies in a variety of industries across the US.

Due to rapid growth, they have engaged us to find a Consulting Manager to lead their Sage 300 Practice. This company is one of the largest Sage VARs in the US, and the Sage 300 practice is a big contributor to the business and has many key customers.

This position is fully remote, and this person can work out of anywhere in the US while expecting up to 25% travel to corporate HQ, key industry events and critical client meetings as needed.

The Role You ll Play

As Consulting Manager, you will oversee all aspects of the customer experience, including timely and on-budget delivery, relationship expansion, and end-to-end deal management. You will also spearhead business, technical, and personnel leadership for engagements and partner on pre-sales efforts to secure new opportunities, ensuring that engagement work products and deliverables meet the highest quality standards to maintain client satisfaction.

  • Own P&L responsibility for the Sage 300 practice as a whole, as well as for individual projects, demonstrating business acumen and understanding of key business drivers.

  • Direct and manage the overall and day-to-day business execution of client projects to ensure quality work products, solutions, and deliverables.

  • Manage relationships with clients, maintaining frequent and direct contact with client staff and senior-level executives.

  • Identify, define, develop, and implement techniques to improve engagement productivity, increase efficiency, mitigate risk, resolve issues, and achieve cost savings for our clients.

  • Oversee the structuring of consulting engagements and support contracts to ensure they are properly scoped to meet the customer's requirements and profitability.

  • Lead efforts in building the overall client relationship in existing accounts, including relevant pre-sales activities, building senior management client/partner relationships, qualifying projects, understanding requirements, delivering presentations and proposals, and closing new business.

  • Direct delivery of all projects in defined area, ensuring projects are completed at or ahead of schedule, costs are managed to budget, and customer expectations are exceeded.

  • Effectively build, develop, and manage a team of consultants at client site(s), providing regular feedback, career path planning, and coaching to ensure job satisfaction and professional growth.

  • Report project status and other relevant business metrics to senior management on a regular basis, overseeing achievement of scorecards and key performance indicators.

  • Become a trusted advisor and key strategic development point of contact with clients, identifying and converting client business goals and objectives into solutions.

Background Profile:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, quality assurance, or equivalent, with an advanced degree preferred.

  • A consulting background with a strong track record of delivering complex technical solutions within defined timeframes and budgets, and more than 10 years of experience working with technical enterprise applications.

  • Experience working with SMB customers on ERP (ideally Sage 300) or other Enterprise software application upgrades, implementations or integrations.

  • Demonstrated project management skills, including the ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and manage teams, schedules, and budgets.

  • Strong business expertise, keen understanding of business needs, and ability to ensure technical solutions, strategies, practices, and governance deliver business and customer value.

  • Excellent planning, organizational, leadership, communication, interpersonal, negotiation, and problem-solving skills, with a strong customer/client service orientation and ability to build effective working relationships with stakeholders.

  • Ability to engage senior client management in discussions regarding solutions, industry, and business model, while consistently meeting project deadlines and demonstrating a commitment to company values and business objectives.
