Job Details

Our client, a leader in the insurance sector, seeks a hands-on Manager of Backup and Disaster Recovery to lead the design, implementation, and management of enterprise-wide backup and DR strategies. This role partners closely with infrastructure, application, security, and compliance teams to ensure systems and data are recoverable within defined RTOs and RPOs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee backup and DR technologies across on-premises and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, Nutanix).
  • Evaluate and implement backup/DR solutions and frameworks.
  • Guide IT projects on backup/DR best practices and impact assessments.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, runbooks, and lifecycle processes.
  • Coordinate with vendors to audit and document DR plans.
  • Ensure compliance with security and audit standards.
  • Define and track SLAs, RTOs, and RPOs.
  • Lead DR testing and tabletop exercises.
  • Report on KPIs and drive continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
  • 4+ years of experience with backup/DR tools (e.g., Cohesity).
  • Strong background in virtualization (Nutanix), cloud (AWS, Azure), and storage (NetApp, SAN/NAS).
  • Proficiency in Windows, O365, MS SQL, Active Directory.
  • Familiarity with enterprise networking (Palo Alto, VPCs, MPLS, SD-WAN).
  • 2+ years working with ITIL processes (preferably in ServiceNow).
  • Experience with scripting/automation (PowerShell, Python, CloudFormation).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Estimated Min Rate: $40.00
Estimated Max Rate: $60.00
