Description
We are looking for a skilled Systems Administrator to oversee and maintain the technological infrastructure of our organization in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. This role involves managing virtual and physical servers, ensuring the seamless operation of devices and peripherals, and implementing robust security measures. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and the ability to lead IT processes. This is a Microsoft environment with some linux (but not needed)! Responsibilities:
Manage and maintain VMware environments alongside physical server infrastructure.
Oversee the operation and troubleshooting of desktops, printers, and other peripherals.
Administer SonicWall firewalls, ensuring secure and efficient network operations.
Handle Office 365 and Azure services while managing cloud-based solutions such as Backblaze and Kaseya.
Conduct purchasing for IT equipment and negotiate software licensing agreements and vendor contracts.
Manage domain settings, including group policy configurations and file server administration.
Ensure reliable backups using technologies like Veeam and Cove while overseeing cloud storage solutions.
Supervise IT staff, providing guidance for daily tasks and addressing customer technical issues.
Monitor and deploy security tools such as Cylance and Crowdstrike to safeguard organizational data.
Support disaster recovery planning and execution to maintain business continuity.
Requirements
Minimum of 3 years of experience in systems administration or a related field.
Proficiency with VMware and physical server management.
Strong knowledge of firewall technologies and SonicWall systems.
Expertise in Active Directory and group policy configuration.
Familiarity with backup solutions such as Veeam and Cove.
Solid understanding of Microsoft Windows Server and Windows security protocols.
Experience with Office 365, Azure, and cloud-based technologies.
Ability to manage IT staff and coordinate technical operations effectively.
