Responsibilities

Noblis is seeking an experienced data modeling and reporting specialist to join our Data Analysis and Visualization consulting team. The specialist will be responsible for mining and modeling data creating reliable views from undocumented databases and inconsistent datasets related to training, enrollment, scheduling and completion outcomes - all within a dynamic internal college that serves a large organization.

In this role, the candidate is expected to work independently while also actively collaborating and supporting teammates through documentation, knowledge-sharing and process improvement. Noblis is seeking a curious, methodical and analytical data wrangler who has the proven expertise to thrive working with data they don't fully control.

Responsibilities

Ability to clean, join and prepare data from multiple platforms (e.g., PeopleSoft, Blackboard, Microsoft, Tableau, etc.) to create stable and reliable views from which to build dashboards and all variety of training report requests providing support for strategic client decision making. Additional responsibilities include generating data quality and validation reports, dashboard maintenance and innovating automated data prep workflows to integrate datasets for repeatable use.

Required Qualifications

  • Top Secret (with ability to obtain SCI and CI poly)
  • A bachelor's degree in statistics, economics, information systems, computer science, data science, or related field from an accredited (i.e., regional, national, or institutional) academic institution.
  • 5 or more years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, visualization or related fields.
  • Strong proficiency with SQL, Tableau and Excel.
  • Experience with databases and management tools such as: SQL, Access, PowerBI, MongoDB, Elastic Stack.
  • Experience with basic coding and data visualization skills such as: Python, R, JavaScript, Tableau.
  • Ability to improvise and adapt open-source software solutions in a network-restricted secure environment.
  • Demonstrated experience cleaning, transforming, joining and validating data from multiple systems.
  • Problem solving, critical thinking, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to be a self-starter with demonstrated customer support and collaboration expertise.
  • Ability to brief senior leadership on data visualization findings and recommendations.

Desired Qualifications

  • Holds active TS/SCI with CI polygraph.
  • Professional experience with data sets from higher education or adult learning institution.

Compensation at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is based on full time status. For part time or on-call staff, compensation is proportionately adjusted based on hours worked. While monetary compensation is important, it's just one component of Noblis' total compensation package.
