REMOTE: EST HOURS
The IT Material Specialist is responsible for the procurement and management of all materials, equipment, and supplies required for IT projects and operations. This role involves close collaboration with vendors, internal stakeholders, and project/program managers to ensure timely and cost-effective acquisition of necessary resources.
Responsibilities:
Procurement: Source and evaluation vendors for IT equipment, software, and materials procurement
- Process purchase orders and track deliveries.
- Manage vendor relationships and evaluate performance.
Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of IT assets and inventory levels.
- Track and manage the lifecycle of IT assets.
- Forecast material needs based upon project plans and operational requirements.
Project Support: Collaborate with project managers and technical leads to identify material requirements for IT projects.
- Ensure timely delivery of materials to project sites.
- Manage material budgets and track associated project expenditures.
Logistics: Coordinate the shipping, receiving, and storage of IT materials.
- Ensure proper handling and disposal of IT assets.
Other:
- Maintain current knowledge of industry trends and new technologies.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
- May provide support for other procurement activities as needed.
- Commitment to ongoing security awareness training and adherence to company policies and best practices.
- Willingness to take on additional responsibilities and participate in professional development activities.
- Other duties as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in procurement or materials management, preferably in the IT industry.
- Strong knowledge of IT hardware, software, and networking equipment.
- Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Proficient in using procurement software and inventory management systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Additional Skills (Preferred):
- Experience with IT project management methodologies.
- Familiarity with IT asset lifecycle management.
- Certifications in procurement or supply chain management.
