Job Description:

Position: OSP Engineer (Core Provisioning & Material Procurement Engineer)
Location: Remote
Rate: Negotiable based on experience
Duration: 12+ Month Contract
The position requires involvement throughout the life cycle of a service order including the design and material procurement. The Engineer will utilize TIRKS, Capacity Creation Process (CCP) system, vSAP, and other internal systems to document all technical solutions and ensure a timely deployment of service.
Overview:
Provisioning of all service orders including but not limited to TDM (T1/T3), Ethernet & Dark Fiber services
Circuit design utilizing TIRKS (Trunks Integrated Record Keeping System)
Transport design utilizing the Intelligent Edge Network (iEN) and GPON network
Creation of legacy transport systems utilizing TIRKS
Determines routing of high capacity special services over the fiber and copper networks
Responsible for equipment configurations and card/port assignments
Manages multiple Capacity Creation Requests for new hardware deployments, reconfigurations, decommissions, and First Office Application (FOA) projects
Manages design requirements for circuit additions, upgrades, outside moves, repairs & rearrangements
Coordinate and drive engineering issues to resolution
Maintain excellent communication with field engineering, cross functional team members and direct management to ensure early identification of issues and timely resolution
Collaborate with OSP & ISP Engineering/Planning teams
Required Skills:
Bachelor degree in Engineering or technical/science/mathematics fields.
Proficient computer skills (windows-based programs and corporate database systems).
Demonstrate knowledge of circuit design, SONET, TDM, T1s, ISDN
Strong working knowledge of fiber SONET/Transport - Tellabs, Alcatel Lucent, Adtran, Fujitsu, Ciena, Cisco.
Candidate should have strong skills in oral and written communications, attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and organize work tasks.
Must be able re-prioritize as needed in a fast-paced working environment, especially when dealing with time sensitive issues and mandated deadlines.
Effective interpersonal skills to interact successfully with customers, management and team members to deliver customer satisfaction.
Desired Skills:
Prior working experience and basic knowledge of telecom Outside Plant Engineering Practices.
CAD Drawing - IDDS (Intelligent Design and Drafting System) /ICGS (Interactive Computer Graphics System) engineering system.
