Overview:
Seeking an experienced Public Library Network Technician to provide advanced technical support across a network of public libraries. This role focuses on troubleshooting and maintaining IT systems, including print management solutions, to ensure smooth technology operations for staff and patrons.
Key Responsibilities:
Seeking an experienced Public Library Network Technician to provide advanced technical support across a network of public libraries. This role focuses on troubleshooting and maintaining IT systems, including print management solutions, to ensure smooth technology operations for staff and patrons.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide Tier II support for workstations, printers, servers, Wi-Fi, and library software.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues, with emphasis on print release station/payment problems.
- Maintain and repair print management systems for reliable service.
- Document IT processes, configurations, and resolutions.
- Travel between library branches within Warren County to deliver on-site support.
- Perform routine system updates, patching, and maintenance.
- Collaborate with library staff and IT leadership on issue prioritization and improvements.
- 3+ years of Tier II IT support experience, preferably in public, education, or library settings.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, networking, and peripherals.
- Experience with print release/payment systems.
- Proficient with Windows OS, Microsoft Office, networking basics (TCP/IP, Wi-Fi).
- Excellent documentation and communication skills.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel locally.
- Experience supporting library IT infrastructure or government environments.
- Familiarity with library management systems (Polaris, Sierra, Koha, or similar).
- Experience with public-access computers and kiosks.
