Job Details
We are seeking a Symitar Administrator with a strong focus on administration and support (not development) of the on-premise Jack Henry Symitar core processing system. This is a long-term engagement (contract-for-hire) where the right candidate will provide critical day-to-day operational support, ensure system stability, and coordinate closely with internal developers and third-party vendors for successful integrations and change management. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience with Symitar System Administration in a credit union or financial services environment and a strong understanding of ITIL-based support best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day administration, monitoring, and support of the on-premise Symitar system.
- Serve as the primary contact for technical support, incident response, system maintenance, and troubleshooting activities.
- Work closely with development teams to review deliverables, ensuring alignment with system standards, security, and performance requirements.
- Support system integrations and coordinate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure seamless functionality.
- Implement, document, and maintain change control processes, patch management, and system updates.
- Monitor system performance, availability, data integrity and address potential issues.
- Disaster recovery planning/ testing, ensuring high availability and data security.
- Maintain detailed documentation of systems, procedures, and configurations.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience supporting the Symitar system, preferably in a financial institution or credit union.
- Understanding of on-premise infrastructure environments and system-level administration.
- Familiarity with Symitar utilities, job schedulers, batch processing, core updates, and troubleshooting tools.
- Experience coordinating system enhancements and integrations.
- Proficient with standard IT service management processes (change management, incident tracking, etc.)
