Job Description:
  • The Project Manager PMP will coordinate vendors, consultants, and internal IT and business staff to ensure successful execution of IT projects and procurements.
  • This role oversees project planning, documentation, progress tracking, stakeholder communication, resource allocation, and governance adherence.
  • The Project Manager ensures alignment with organizational goals and drives consistent delivery through the entire project lifecycle while maintaining a positive project culture.
Requirement/Must Have:
  • Strong experience managing cloud-hosted SaaS implementation projects.
  • Strong experience leading business and IT teams through requirements discovery and documentation.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, team-building, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to lead teams to adopt new approaches, systems, and methods.
  • Ability to balance competing demands for quality, scope, schedule, and cost.
  • Ability to analyze and document system processes.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle models.
  • Exceptional knowledge of Agile and Waterfall project management principles.
  • Knowledge of process engineering and re-engineering techniques.
Experience:
  • Minimum ten years of experience managing large projects.
  • Experience with Project Management Office methodologies and practices preferred.
  • Experience with Commonwealth IT procurement processes preferred.
  • Experience with VITA s Commonwealth Technology Portfolio (CTP) system and ECOS process strongly preferred.
Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate vendors, consultants, and internal teams for execution of IT projects.
  • Oversee development of proposals, statements of work, and RFP responses.
  • Support team development, hold teams accountable, and remove roadblocks.
  • Facilitate multi-disciplinary teams in creating project plans, goals, and procedures.
  • Manage day-to-day project activities and working relationships with stakeholders.
  • Set project goals aligned with technical and organizational strategies.
  • Track and communicate project progress regarding schedule, cost, and risks.
  • Collaborate with technology leads to incorporate best practices into project plans.
  • Drive consistent delivery through full project lifecycle.
  • Monitor vendor progress and develop performance metrics.
  • Maintain project budgets, schedules, risks, and documentation.
  • Adhere to project management governance requirements.
  • Maintain positive project culture and demonstrate strong emotional intelligence.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Should Have:
  • Experience with VITA or similar state-level governance environments.
  • Experience in large, complex IT project environments.
Skills:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Visio, and Office.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Strong documentation and requirement-gathering capabilities.
Qualification And Education:
  • Bachelor s degree required.
  • PMP certification required.
