Database Developer
Location: Atlanta, GA (Hybrid)
Type: Contract (Contingent on renewal and funding)
Job Description:
We are seeking a Data Warehouse & BI Developer with strong technical expertise in data integration, warehousing, and business intelligence, primarily within the Microsoft stack. The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain scalable data solutions that support reporting, analytics, and business decision-making.
Responsibilities:
Supervise design and security coordination for computer databases managing high volumes of business-critical data.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to translate business use cases into data mapping and integration processes.
Identify data sources and develop data flow diagrams and source-to-target documentation.
Partner with Data Architects to recommend optimal data models and BI Developers to create reports.
Develop and maintain database objects such as tables, views, indexes, and enforce database security.
Support database application development on-premises and cloud environments.
Work with data stewards and domain experts to ensure best practices in data integrity, validation, and documentation.
Optimize batch processing and maintain data warehouse performance.
Implement audit controls, monitoring, and data cleansing to ensure data quality.
Manage deployments, perform integrity checks, and coordinate releases.
Participate in version control and CI/CD practices using tools like GitHub.
Provide on-call support when required.
Required Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence.
Expert in T-SQL with 5+ years of experience in Microsoft SQL Server 2014+.
5+ years of hands-on experience with SSIS and Stored Procedures.
2+ years of experience with Power BI for interactive reporting and dashboards.
2+ years of experience with Azure Data Factory, SQL VMs, and maintaining ETL pipelines.
Strong experience in data modeling (conceptual, logical, physical).
Deep understanding of relational database design and SQL programming.
Experience mentoring junior developers and guiding best practices.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
1 2 years of experience with Azure Synapse Analytics (Data Warehouse).
Familiarity with Data Lake, Azure-based ETL solutions, and cloud data platforms.
Additional Information:
Candidate must be on-site Day 1 to receive equipment and complete onboarding.
Remote work allowed, but on-site availability at short notice is required.
Engagement is contingent upon client renewal and funding availability.
Candidate must be ready to start within 10 business days of offer.
Absences longer than 2 weeks require prior approval and reachable contact info must be provided.
