About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking A highly skilled Lead Specialty Software Engineer specializing in Electronic Trading to join our dynamic team. As a Lead Specialty Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining electronic trading systems, ensuring high performance, reliability, and scalability. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including Product owners, traders, quants, and developers to ensure the reliability, scalability, and efficiency of our electronic trading platform. Additionally, you will provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to junior engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.

In this role, you will:
  • Lead complex initiatives on selected domains
  • Ensure systems are monitored to increase operational efficiency and managed to mitigate risk
  • Define opportunities to maximize resource utilization and improve processes while reducing cost
  • Lead, design, develop, test and implement applications and system components, tools and utilities, models, simulation, and analytics to manage complex business functions using sophisticated technologies
  • Resolve coding, testing and escalated platform issues of a technically challenging nature
  • Lead team to ensure compliance and risk management requirements for supported area are met and work with other stakeholders to implement key risk initiatives
  • Mentor less experienced software engineers
  • Collaborate and influence all levels of professionals including managers
  • Lead team to achieve objectives
  • Partner with production support and platform engineering teams effectively

Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of Specialty Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 5+ years of experience with capital markets business and processes, e.g. Fixed Income Electronic trading flows, algorithmic trading, Analytics, trade lifecycle.
  • 5+ years of experience with Architect, design, and develop, unit and stress test high performing ECN/Exchange gateways, RFQ, Pricing, AMM components that are integrated tightly to the entire electronic trading stack.
  • 5+ years of Experience handling/troubleshooting high speed market data, order routing, RFQ, RFS, Quotations, and Trades from multiple trading venues and broker-dealers.
  • 5+ years of Experience working with line of business partners, Line traders, technology teams, and Exchanges to document and troubleshoot production issues related eTrading Quoting, Inquiry, Post Trade Feeds flows and latency/Performance issues.
  • 5+ years of Experience working with E-trading business users and product team to establish and maintain a consistent test methodology and to resolve escalated issues during the testing process.
  • 5+ years of High-performance programming techniques in Java/Python/C++

Desired Qualifications:
  • Experienced in FIX Protocol.
  • Uses advanced knowledge of Fixed Income E-trading flows, Venue Interaction and Position/Risk management in identifying, evaluating and resolving highly complex test problems
  • Good understanding and working knowledge of core technology concepts in like networking, multi-threading, synchronization, data structures, algorithms, memory management, etc.
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of SEC, FINRA and international regulators
  • Domain expertise in Fixed Income (Rates, Spread) and FX , coupled with hands-on experience in building electronic trading platforms and/or components is a huge plus.
  • Experience working on low latency high-throughput transactional systems
