Job Details

Reports to: Manager, Business Intelligence

Supervises: 0 (Direct) 0 (Indirect)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Develop, analyze, and modify processes, data structures, and models as needed to ensure relevance and accuracy.
  • Prepare and maintain BI reporting and analysis documentations.
  • Generate BI reports, dashboards, and data models with the help of BI tools and MS-Office products.
  • Collaborate with a variety of key stakeholders to solve business problems and improve member experience through data mining, analytics, and modeling.
  • Support the Business Intelligence Manager in finding ways for the data to be used to improve current business processes.
  • Regularly conduct research into current and emerging business intelligence technologies and issues and then share your insights and recommendations with the Business Intelligence Manager.
  • Analyze existing BI reporting processes and suggest improvement to the Business Intelligence Manager.
  • Provide information, including standard reporting packages, queries, and ad-hoc reporting to various end-users in an appropriate form and frequency.
  • Provides excellent service by demonstrating courtesy and personal concern for members' and co-workers' needs and follows up to ensure those needs are met.
  • Identify and resolve BI report related issues.
  • Manage upgrades, modifications, maintenance, and troubleshooting of BI systems.
  • Validate data warehouse system for data integrity, quality, and accuracy.

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Statistics, Business Analytics, or related field required
      • OR two or more years of experience as a Business Intelligence Specialist

    • One to three years of experience in business intelligence analytics or a related field preferred
    • Strong experience with Microsoft Excel, SQL Server, and SSIS
    • Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, SSRS, MicroStrategy, and Business Objects
    • Experience with Alteryx is a plus
    • Familiarity with machine learning and predictive analytics concepts
    • Solid understanding of statistical techniques such as correlation, regression, normalization, and forecasting
    • Working knowledge of data architecture, database design, data modeling, and data warehousing
    • Understanding of data security, privacy regulations, and compliance standards

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, and sit. This position requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move items over 15 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
