Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Project Engineer to join our dynamic team in the chemicals manufacturing sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, executing, and delivering capital and process improvement projects that enhance safety, efficiency, and productivity across our manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage engineering projects from concept through commissioning, ensuring alignment with safety, quality, cost, and schedule objectives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, maintenance, EHS, and procurement to define project scopes and deliverables.
- Develop project plans, budgets, and timelines; track progress and report on key performance indicators.
- Prepare technical specifications, review engineering designs, and coordinate with external vendors and contractors.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, environmental regulations, and internal safety protocols.
- Support process optimization initiatives and troubleshoot technical issues in collaboration with plant engineers.
- Maintain accurate documentation including P&IDs, equipment datasheets, and project reports.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in project engineering within a chemical, petrochemical, or industrial manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of chemical processing equipment, piping systems, and instrumentation.
- Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Aspen).
- Familiarity with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory requirements.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- PMP certification or Six Sigma training is a plus.
