Job Details

Job Description:

  • The GOPS team is committed to building our products Better, Faster, Cheaper, and we re looking for a results-driven and process-oriented Production Planner to join our San Diego facility.
  • This position will play a key role in supporting the manufacturing of the client product line, managing production planning activities in a fast-paced, high-mix, short lead-time environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Master Scheduling to understand build plans, schedule changes, and required flexibility to meet business goals.
  • Analyze manufacturing capacity and allocate resources accordingly to support build plan commitments.
  • Determine material requirements based on production schedules and coordinate material flow with purchasing, production, and engineering teams.
  • Plan, schedule, and monitor material movement throughout the production cycle, ensuring alignment with short lead times and high product mix requirements.
  • Partner with purchasing to track incoming materials, identify risks, and mitigate potential delays.
  • Lead shortage meetings with the procurement team; highlight and escalate critical shortages that could impact shipping schedules.
  • Ensure continuous improvement and adherence to planning best practices, maintaining alignment with company policies and procedures.
  • Utilize SAP and MS Excel for planning, reporting, and tracking activities.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in production planning within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work through complex issues creatively and practically.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced setting.
  • High attention to detail; a precision-oriented mindset is essential.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally and independently.
  • Familiarity with high-mix, low-volume manufacturing is a plus.
