job summary:

Required to participate in shift rotations and "On-call" schedules Work hours are 12:30 PM ET to 9:30 PM ET hours in a rotating shift. 40 hour per week includes work on weekdays and weekends. Work hours subject to change as per team requirement for rotating shifts



JOB DESCRIPTION



System Engineer with at least 5 years of experience on MS Exchange, Lync and SharePoint server monitoring administration and troubleshooting. Must have a good knowledge Windows clustering, Microsoft Exchange 2016, Lync 20013 and SharePoint 2016. In-depth understanding of High Availability. Strong experience in performance tuning activities. Responding to service requests and escalation. Utilizing various tools such as SCOM, SiteScope and Splunk to monitor and maintain servers



Responsibilities




  • You will support the exchange 2016 mailboxes and other mail server services on-premises


  • Responding to BHW monitoring or critical application alerts by investigating problem and developing long term solutions


  • Analyzing existing process/application and suggesting improvements to eliminate performance bottle necks with available server resource


  • Utilizing advanced level troubleshooting with RCA and recommending corrective actions for escalations


  • Day to day system administration for the environment


  • Providing day to day monitoring of messaging, Lync and Sharepoint infrastructure technologies


  • Providing operational support for Windows Server 2016, Exchange, Active Directory, as well as 3rd party applications


  • Implementing new and additional technologies that will improve the infrastructure


  • Participate in patching and upgrades, perform pilot testing before final deployment


  • Assist with the resolution of issues and actively participating in problem management activities

  • 5+ years' experience in Microsoft Windows Server and Exchange 2010/2016/Exchange, Lync and SharePoint, Splunk


  • Utilize PowerShell to manage the environment


  • Working knowledge of Windows Active Directory and Microsoft clustering technologies


  • Experience with various monitoring SCOM, SiteScope and splunk tools


  • Experience in creating Splunk reports, dashboards, Regex, alerts.


  • Knowledge on Splunk architecture


  • Good knowledge on creating visualizations for performance metrics.


  • Experience in design, implementation, and support of Splunk (Indexers, Forwarders, Search-Heads Setup etc)


  • Strong ability to create searches, dashboards, and services with KPIs and entities in both Splunk Core and Splunk


  • Ability to create operations documentation for maintaining the Splunk infrastructure


  • Experience in Splunk Enterprise Security


  • Knowledge of ITIL process for incident, change, Problem Management


  • Strong understanding of Operational Controls and Risk governance aligned to ITIL framework.


  • Experience assisting with tracking and managing vendor support tickets, and be able work with a team to triage and resolve urgent application issues


  • Strong knowledge of the Event Management Process.


  • Knowledge of ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) Processes with focus in Event Management.


  • Self-motivated, hands-on, driven individual with good communication skills.


  • Verbal Skills - Ability to lead meetings.


  • Written Skills - Ability to write clear concise messages to properly communicate key updates to peers and Senior Leadership.


  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment meeting deliverable deadlines.


  • Experience in availability monitoring and application / network performance.

  • Previous knowledge with ability to use the following tools:


  • Experience with monitoring tools such as Sitescope, AppDynamaics and the Dynatrace suite of tools.


  • 3+ years of Development or Architecture experience for multi-tiered business applications.


  • 2+ years of Production Systems Engineering and/or Support Role.


  • Knowledge of OS (Windows/Unix) based infrastructure services, processing, monitoring, and the Dynatrace suite of tools.


  • ITSM (Information Technology Service Management) Remedy.



Desired Skills




  • Previous knowledge and work experience across the Bank is helpful.


  • Previous experience and knowledge working in a larger financial environment.


  • Business acumen a plus.


  • ServiceNow experience.


  • Splunk experience is a plus.


  • ITIL Certification and in depth understanding of ITIL principles, functions and processes is a plus
