What You'll Do:
- Deliver Core IT Support: Provide expert-level support for hardware, software, and network issues-just like in a traditional IT role-but tailored to the unique needs of a lab setting.
- Support Scientific Tools: Install, configure, and troubleshoot lab-specific equipment and applications to ensure seamless research operations.
- Be a Trusted Partner: Work directly with scientists to resolve technical issues, offering clear guidance and minimizing disruptions to their work.
- Maintain and Monitor Systems: Proactively manage lab equipment performance, perform updates, and conduct preventive maintenance.
- Train and Empower Users: Lead training sessions to help lab staff confidently use their tools and systems.
- Document and Improve: Keep detailed records of support activities and contribute to process improvements that enhance lab efficiency.
- Coordinate with Vendors: Manage vendor relationships for equipment servicing, upgrades, and technical support.
What You Bring:
- A degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Solid experience in traditional IT support roles-help desk, desktop support, or systems administration.
- A flexible mindset and eagerness to learn the nuances of lab-based technology.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across a range of platforms and devices.
- Excellent communication skills-you can explain complex tech in simple terms.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with compliance standards in scientific or regulated environments is a plus.
Work Environment:
- 100% onsite in a lab-based setting-you'll be immersed in a collaborative, hands-on environment where your impact is immediate and meaningful.
