Please note that this is a 6 month contract position.

Manager is not just looking for computer updates but also over the phone support or basic server maintenance experience. Hiring manager is seeking for any Colo or DC experience. They need to have work in and have been around equipment that is in these types of spaces.

-Willing to travel at least for the two months, M-F. After that 30-40% travel required.
-Travel will be through the U.S- (flying required)
-Not handling live equipment for this position, but manager wants prior experience handling equipment because equipment is expensive.
-3-5 years of Telecom Experience
-Local travel requires contractor to use personal vehicle so they need to have insurance.

Nice to Have
-Ability to travel to Canada

Intake Notes:
-Working hours may vary, but mostly standard M-F 8am-4pm or 9am-5pm.
-Travel will be booked through Concur (hotel, rentals, etc.) to be covered by the client. Receive $50 daily allotment when traveling. Contractor responsible for incidentals but will be reimbursed.

This role will require Mon - Fri 40 hours per week

5 years telecoms experience
Experience of
Computer literate, intermediate level Word/Excel/Mail (Google docs a bonus)

Experience of electronics/telecommunication hardware
Experience of working in a fast-paced, volatile environment
Experience of handling and resolving customer queries
Able to lift heavy objects 100 lbs. +

Education:
High School diploma

Role: To perform work on customer sites across the US working with the fellow Decom team members. Decom is responsible for returning new and used customer material from the site back into inventory. The team receives requests from engineering groups within NetOps that complete deployments across the US region, this material translates into a request sheet listing the equipment that is required to be collected and brought safely back to our warehouse location.

Daily activities:
Working on customer sites across the US
Booking travel for Decom for upcoming activity
Adhering to customer security and safety policies
Supporting in the preparation of Decom projects with good research and feedback on team meetings prior to project start dates
Performing part identification and data input into inventory management system
Performing configuration checks of high value items and documentation updates
Safe removal of telecoms equipment on customer sites
Repacking of high value items according to our packaging guidelines
Preparation of material for safe shipping and completion of handovers to courier teams
Updating of inventory management system
Attending and contributing to regular team meetings
Providing feedback of weekly activity on team meetings
Updating documentation of change requests for equipment and packaging changes
During quieter periods contribution to ongoing projects will be required
Assisting in virtual decoms
o Helping other engineers verify parts and proper packaging technics over VC

Travel
Weekly travel will be required for the first 2 months for training. Thereafter, travel will be around 30% and 70% in local metro
