AI/Machine Learning Engineer
Location: On-site Atlanta, GA
Duration: 6-month contract with potential for extension
Seeking a highly experienced AI/Machine Learning Engineer to lead the design, development, and deployment of AI-powered applications. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with a strong background in AI/ML, cloud architecture, and full-stack development. You will play a key role in shaping intelligent solutions using cutting-edge technologies such as Azure Open AI (GPT models), Azure Functions, Cosmos DB, and Web Apps.
This is a hands-on leadership opportunity to work closely with cross-functional teams, mentor junior engineers, and drive innovation in AI application development for real-world use cases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect and implement scalable AI/ML solutions using Microsoft Azure services.
- Lead the integration of GPT models and other LLMs into web applications and APIs.
- Oversee the rapid prototyping and deployment of AI-powered tools for internal and client-facing applications.
- Collaborate with data scientists, developers, and stakeholders to define technical requirements and deliver robust solutions.
- Write high-quality, maintainable code in Python and JavaScript.
- Ensure best practices in software engineering, including CI/CD, testing, and documentation.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing across the team.
- Stay current with advancements in AI/ML and cloud technologies to guide strategic technical decisions.
Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 7 years in AI/ML development.
- Proven experience working with GPT models or other LLMs in production environments.
- Strong proficiency in Python and JavaScript, with experience in building web-based applications and APIs.
- Deep understanding of machine learning, natural language processing, and neural networks.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, including Azure Open AI, Azure Functions, and Cosmos DB.
- Solid knowledge of RESTful APIs, cloud-native architectures, and DevOps practices.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
- Bachelors or Master s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Ability to work on-site in Atlanta, GA as required by the client.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with front-end frameworks such as React, HTML, and CSS.
- Familiarity with data pipelines, ML Ops, and model deployment in cloud environments.
- Prior experience working with government or public health agencies (e.g., CDC).
- Existing CDC network profile and access to company-issued workstation equipment is a plus.
