Job Title: Technical Writer / Business Analyst
Location: Frisco, TX
Employment Type: Contract (12 months with potentials of extension)
Onsite Requirement: 2 days onsite a week
Job Summary:
We are looking for a Technical Writer / Business Analyst hybrid professional to join our enterprise technology team. This dual-role position requires a strong background in business analysis and a proven ability to produce high-quality technical documentation. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to support initiatives across the enterprise, delivering clear documentation, contributing to roadmap and backlog creation, and helping streamline communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for simplifying complex concepts and enabling organizational clarity through documentation. Experience in the financial services or banking sector is preferred but not required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with product owners, engineers, QA, and stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business and technical requirements.
- Produce clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation including:
- Functional and design specifications
- Process diagrams and workflows
- User manuals and training materials
- Quick reference guides and online help
- Assist in developing and managing product roadmaps and backlogs using tools such as Jira, Aha!, or similar.
- Support internal communication and change management through documentation and training deliverables.
- Standardize and continuously improve documentation templates and guidelines.
- Document data migration processes and support related initiatives.
- Facilitate knowledge transfer and end-user adoption through effective content creation and delivery.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Solid Business Analyst background with experience in gathering and translating business needs into actionable documentation.
- Proficiency in design documentation tools such as Confluence, Visio, Lucidchart, and other diagramming/writing platforms.
- Demonstrated experience in roadmap and backlog creation.
- Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly and concisely.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple deliverables on time.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to documentation quality and consistency.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Experience in the financial services or banking industry.
- Exposure to enterprise systems such as core banking platforms.
- Familiarity with data migration projects and related documentation practices.
- Experience developing training content and user enablement materials.
- Passion for process improvement and documentation standardization.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor s degree in Information Technology, Communications, English, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in a combined Technical Writer and/or Business Analyst role.
- Previous experience in an enterprise technology environment is preferred.
