Job Details

ASD is seeking an Electrical/Electro-mechanical/Design Engineer to join our team. This position provides an opportunity to join an expanding team that will continue to develop/expand systems that supports multiple existing government customers. We work closely with our customer to ensure that we continue to provide the updated services needed as they expand their own work and offerings to a growing list of other government organizations.

 

The candidate Engineer will work within established multi-disciplinary Agile teams to build and further advance systems and applications.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze customer requirements and/or problems, determine solutions, work with the team to design and implement solution.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain existing equipment--both off-the-shelf and custom built.
  • Integrate peripherals such as RFID and barcode readers into PC based systems.
  • Research technologies for usefulness within our current and proposed systems.
  • Design, prototype, build, and deploy circuits and systems for our customers. Work with the team to ensure that the items are properly integrated into the intended system, well documented, and maintainable by the target staff (specialist or user depending on the item).

 

Basic Qualifications:

At least three years of experience designing and building circuit boards, trouble-shooting electrical and electronic equipment, and maintaining electrical and electronic equipment. The candidate must be comfortable working with the full spectrum of devices: from individual components through field programmable gate arrays through fully integrated systems. Production-level experience with various CAD tools and LabVIEW. At least some familiarity with both .NET and Java programming environments.

 

In addition to the technical skills and experience, the candidate must be a good team player, be an effective trouble-shooter and problem solver, and have good communications skills. Familiarity with using MS Office is a necessary.

 

The candidate must successfully complete a Public Trust background investigation.
