Job Title: Data Scientist - AI/HPC/Deep Learning (Ph.D. Preferred)
Location: Houston, TX

Duration: 12 Months

 

Summary:
Join our Data Science & ML Capability Center to deliver world-class AI/ML solutions for geophysical and business-critical scientific computing. Drive innovation in large-scale HPC, deep and reinforcement learning, multimodal LLMs, and production-quality data science deployments.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, deploy, and scale deep learning/reinforcement learning and multimodal LLM solutions on digital and HPC platforms
  • Own full product lifecycle: exploratory prototyping, model scaling, production quality, and code reviews
  • Collaborate with customers R&D to accelerate scientific/AI adoption in geosciences and digital transformation
  • Build reusable tools, frameworks, and cross-domain POCs migrate from POC to business-ready products
  • Uphold digital quality (MCDS), conduct audits/reviews, ensure clean production-level code
  • Benchmark new asset initiatives, contribute to community (CoE/CoP), and cross-pollinate ideas across projects
  • Adhere to agile and DevOps best practices for code, deployment, and documentation

 

Mandatory Skills:

  • Ph.D. in STEM preferred; exceptional M.S. considered
  • Mastery in deep learning, reinforcement learning (theory & practice)
  • Expert programming with PyTorch, TensorFlow, Python
  • Strong skills in ML/statistical modeling, exploratory analysis
  • Proficiency in AI engineering, cloud/HPC deployment, and DevOps/Agile methodologies

 

Optional:

  • Knowledge of information management, data governance, commercial value mapping
  • Experience in scientific computing/HPC (geoscience, seismic imaging, energy research)
