This team is a part of the Core OS organization and collaborates closely with a diverse group of cross-functional teams on providing test solutions for innovative system services and architectures that leverage OS, Networking and Security frameworks. Description This is a highly entrepreneurial team, always looking for innovative ways to improve the status quo and solve difficult problems in new and better ways. We are looking for someone who is interested in exploring and driving the charge on quality for multiple software technologies throughout the stack. You will work with cross-functional teams across Apple to proactively develop and drive overall test planning, execution and quality reporting for various areas of responsibility. The nature of the position requires the candidate to possess excellent communication and problem solving skills, along with a drive to make a difference. The ideal candidate will be highly technical, creative, motivated, and results driven and be able to work independently.

Responsibilities
  • As a Software Developer in Test on this team you will help define validation strategies and create detailed test plans for validating system services and architectures to support Apple platforms, overseeing the execution of these test plans and the analysis of results. You will design, develop, and own automated tests for new and unreleased HW , support validation at scale, and triage and investigate test results. You will support the team's test efforts at offshore facilities, collaborate closely with cross-functional development and quality teams across CoreOS, Software Engineering, Marketing, Operations, and Hardware Engineering, and may work with partners in the Asia-Pacific timezone, including potential travel to their facilities.

Minimum Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience with system hardware or software validation which includes proven ability to work independently and demonstrable cross-functional leadership with good project/time management skills.
  • Experience in defining test validation strategies and developing comprehensive test plans at firmware/driver or system level.
  • Programming experience with Python and other scripting languages.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills which includes adept at reporting and presenting system and feature quality status to a variety of cross-functional audience including senior management.
  • Proven ability to ramp up quickly on both new and existing technologies.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated ability to lead quality initiatives and drive improvements in the processes and workflows for software development and validation.
  • Strong Object Oriented Programming skills, preferably in Python, demonstrating automated test development.
  • QA Experience in Network, Software or Security Systems testing.

Pay & Benefits At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $139,500 and $258,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
