Job Title: Engineering Lead Application Support Specialist

Greenfield, IN (Onsite)

Job Summary: Experienced Engineering Lead with a strong background in L2 and L3 application support across laboratory and industrial systems, including Waters Empower CDS, OSI PI Data Historian, Meridian Drawing Management System, and Biovia LES. Proven expertise in system administration, incident management, user support, testing, and coordinating with vendor technical support teams. Skilled in managing application configurations, system health monitoring, troubleshooting, and ensuring minimal downtime in highly regulated environments.

Key Responsibilities:

Application Support & Administration:

  • Provided Level 2 and Level 3 support for enterprise applications including:
    • Waters Empower CDS (FR5)
    • OSI PI Data Historian
    • Meridian Drawing Management System
    • Biovia Laboratory Execution System (LES)
  • Acted as Application Administrator for the above systems, handling user management, access control, configurations, and server health checks.
  • Monitored application health, server connectivity, and data flows to identify and resolve performance or connectivity issues.
  • Handled scheduled updates, patches, and coordinated outages with end users and local site teams.

System Configuration & Maintenance:

  • Managed configuration changes, updates, and deployment of patches while ensuring system stability.
  • Oversaw project and session management, license monitoring, and policy management across systems.
  • Installed and configured new servers, interfaces, and modules (e.g., PI Interfaces, Empower LAC/E, Biovia LES components).

Issue Resolution & Troubleshooting:

  • Analyzed application-related incidents and service requests; provided timely resolutions based on predefined SOPs.
  • Investigated and resolved issues related to system performance, workflows, data exchange, tag creation, and session/instrument locks.
  • Accessed and interpreted application logs to troubleshoot problems related to user access, data sync, or service interruptions.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Management:

  • Coordinated with vendor technical support teams (Waters, OSIsoft, Biovia) for issue escalation and resolution.
  • Worked closely with business users, QA, and IT infrastructure teams for incident and change management.
  • Created and maintained knowledge-based articles and SOPs for recurring support activities.

Testing & Quality Assurance:

  • Designed test cases and conducted functional testing post-patch deployments or configuration changes.
  • Ensured application compliance and integrity during lifecycle changes and updates.
