Job Title– Data Engineer
Location: Metropark, NJ (Hybrid)
Contract: 6–12 Months

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join the Credit Risk Technology team. This role will be responsible for building and supporting enterprise data pipelines, ETL processes, and data models that power regulatory and risk management platforms. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in SQL, Python, Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and ETL tools with proven experience in troubleshooting, optimizing, and scaling data solutions.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain ETL pipelines and workflows supporting Credit Risk Management systems.

  • Write and optimize T-SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions for complex data transformations.

  • Support and enhance existing SSIS/SQL projects and Snowflake queries.

  • Collaborate with senior architects and integration teams to define data architecture, staging, and transformation frameworks.

  • Develop Python-based applications and utilities for automation, data processing, and integration.

  • Leverage Azure Data Factory and Databricks for pipeline orchestration and big data processing.

  • Perform root cause analysis and provide timely resolutions for production issues.

  • Apply data modeling best practices to support scalable and efficient data solutions.

  • Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and compliance with regulatory requirements.


Required Skills & Experience

  • 10–12+ years of total IT experience, with a strong background in data engineering.

  • Expert-level SQL development skills (DDL/DML, stored procedures, query optimization).

  • 5+ years of Python development with frameworks such as Django, Flask, Pyramid, or Tornado.

  • Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory and Databricks for building pipelines.

  • Strong experience in ETL design and development (SSIS and related tools).

  • Knowledge of data modeling, data warehousing, and staging frameworks.

  • Proficiency with Python testing & code analysis tools (Pytest, Pylint).

  • Familiarity with Snowflake SQL development.

  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.


Nice to Have

  • Prior experience in Credit Risk or Financial Services domain.

  • Exposure to cloud-based data architecture best practices.


Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Finance (or related field).
