Description
Wilson Engineers is an Arizona-based firm with a staff of more than 190 personnel specializing in water and wastewater engineering and construction management services. We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team. This position requires 40 hours per week on-site in our Tempe, AZ office. (This position on-site and is not hybrid nor remote.)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Proficient in the design of low and medium voltage power distribution systems including single-line diagrams, panel schedules, power plans, lighting plans, control schematics, conduit block diagrams, and installation details
Proficient in the design of industrial control systems, including network architecture diagrams, process and instrumentation diagrams and communications riser diagrams.
Proficient in completing electrical engineering calculations, including circuit load summaries, circuit breaker sizing, conduit and wire sizing, voltage drop, and fault current
Proficient in interpreting, modifying and creating engineering specifications.
Requirements
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering required
Minimum of three (3) years electrical and industrial controls (EI&C) engineering experience in Water/Wastewater industry
Minimum of two to three years of experience producing EI&C Contract Drawing packages in AutoCAD
Proficient with Microsoft Office suite and working knowledge of AutoCAD software
Thorough understanding of the NFPA 70E National Electrical Code
Strong ability to work independently and efficiently on small to medium electrical and control system design projects, and in a team environment with other engineers and designers.
Experience in construction shop drawing review, request for information (RFI) field inspection, start-up and commissioning
Experience reviewing and interpreting power system coordination studies
Experience in the design of medium voltage power distribution systems and lighting systems is a plus
Experience modeling electrical power distribution systems with SKM software a plus
Thorough knowledge of NFPA 70E, NFPA 101 and NFPA 820
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
