American National is currently seeking an analytical expert and Duck Creek Technical Lead for our Personal Lines team! This position is responsible for the writing and testing of software code related to our Personal Lines policy administration system.

Your Impact:

  • Leading and mentoring a small development team, including assignment of tasks that align with skills and support growth
  • Designing solutions that meet business needs
  • Being a successful liaison between technical and non-technical teams to ensure productive partnerships and productivity
  • Creating technical specifications (diagrams, information flows, presentations)
  • Driving the resolution and creative solutions of reported system problems and bugs
  • Complex development , troubleshooting and testing assignments
  • Creating POCs when necessary
  • System testing to confirm business requirements and that reliability and efficiency is met
  • May be asked to analyze current system environments and infrastructure to develop implementation plans and verification procedures
  • Assist in the defining and application of standardized and best practices that appropriately align with business objectives and department workflow
  • Translate user requests into logical computer instructions
  • Debug program code
  • Support the development of an object-oriented policy administration system using a proprietary toolset

What You Will Need to be Successful in this Role:

  • College Degree in an IT related field or Business degree with software programming courses completed
  • Minimum 6+ years' experience in Duck Creek policy components, including design, development and implementation of commercial lines of business
  • Working knowledge of SQL and XML
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with business users, team members and executive leadership
  • Strong organization and communication skills


Our Preferences:

  • Strong understanding and working knowledge of P&C Insurance (Personal Lines experience a plus)


Salary for this position can range from $100191.00for candidates who are minimally qualified through $150286.50 for more highly qualified candidates. Candidates outside of the range are encouraged to apply, and will be considered based on experience, skill and education.
