Job Details
JOB SUMMARY The Internal Trade Activity and Reporting Applications (ITARA) department manages and develops databases and processes data across all divisions and business lines (FID, IED), including trading, reference, finance, and risk data. The Datamarts Analytics team seeks skilled Data Engineers to work on high-volume databases, deliver multiple projects in parallel, and collaborate with global business owners and IT partners. The role involves database infrastructure engineering, application DBA functions, database development, performance optimization, and enforcing database standards within an agile environment. Key Responsibilities Engineer database infrastructure for stability, scalability, and capacity planning. Perform application DBA functions, including schema changes, bottleneck analysis, outage prevention/resolution, performance improvements, maintenance, and recovery. Develop and optimize stored procedures, ETL processes, and database tools. Review and enhance queries and stored procedures for performance. Enforce database security, standards, and guidelines. Collaborate closely with IT partners and global business teams to deliver on requirements. Participate in all stages of the project life cycle, including design, testing, implementation, deployment, and ongoing support. Provide on-call Level 3 support as required. Required Qualifications 37 years of experience with relational databases, especially DB2 Linux or Sybase. Strong scripting skills on Linux platforms using Perl, Python, Unix, or K-Shell. Expertise in relational database performance tuning, indexing strategies, database statistics/reorganizations, de-normalization, memory management, and configurations. Proven ability to create high-quality, optimized stored procedures and queries. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of additional databases such as Greenplum. Familiarity with Data Lakes. Background in the finance domain. Experience with CI/CD tools.
