Job-Specific Minimum Responsibilities:

• Investigate and analyze all response activities related to cyber incidents within the network environment or enclave.
• Collect data from a variety of Computer Network Defense (CND) tools, including intrusion detection system alerts, firewall and network traffic logs, and host system logs to analyze events that occur within their environment.
• Provide operations for persistent monitoring of all designated networks, enclaves, and systems.
• Interpret, analyze, and report all events and anomalies in accordance with computer network directives, including initiating, responding, and reporting discovered events.
• Execute first level responses and addresses reported or detected incidents.
• Distribute directives, vulnerability, and threat advisories.

Job-Specific Minimum Requirements:

• Understanding of network protocols, IP addressing, and network devices (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls)
• Familiarity with basic cybersecurity concepts, such as threat types, attack vectors, and security best practices.
• Proficiency in using security monitoring tools and technologies, such as Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems, intrusion detection systems (IDS), and intrusion prevention systems (IPS).
• Basic skills in incident response, including recognizing and responding to security alerts, and following incident response procedures.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to investigate security incidents and identify potential threats.
• Meticulous attention to detail to accurately monitor and analyze security events and logs.
• Willingness to stay updated with the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies through continuous learning and professional development.
• University Degree (BA/BS) in related field or equivalent experience.

Job-Specific Preferred Skills:

• DoD 8570 IAT Level II or III Certification
• Good verbal and written communication skills to effectively report and document security incidents and findings.

Pay Transparency

Maximus compensation is based on various factors including but not limited to job location, a candidate's education, training, experience, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value analysis including seniority and merit systems, as well as internal pay alignment. Annual salary is just one component of Maximus's total compensation package. Other rewards may include short- and long-term incentives as well as program-specific awards. Additionally, Maximus provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off. Compensation ranges may differ based on contract value but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience. An applicant's salary history will not be used in determining compensation. Maximus will comply with regulatory minimum wage rates and exempt salary thresholds in all instances.
