Responsibilities
- The incumbent maintains and documents all clinical equipment within any assigned facility. The position requires a working knowledge of hospital engineering functions.
- Performs preventive maintenance and periodic safety inspections of all clinical devices, as required by JCAHO; NFPA and all State Health safety codes and other applicable regulations
- Performs inspections of new clinical equipment ensuring safety and physical integrity completing required documentation
- Employs infection control practices when handling any equipment, and uses universal safety procedures when working in patient care areas
Qualifications
Required:
- Biomedical engineering technician in a hospital setting
- 2 year Associates Degree
- Driver's License: CA (AUTO:CA)
Preferred:
- Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET)
