RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior Server Engineer in Jacksonville, FL.
Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Server Engineer with strong process engineering expertise to lead the design, development, and maturation of our virtual server infrastructure. This role requires a hands-on engineer who has built virtual environments from the ground up and has experience maintaining and optimizing them in complex enterprise settings.
Key Responsibilities:
* Senior Server Engineer will architect, build, and maintain a scalable virtual server environment using Nutanix and VMware ESXi
* Lead the encryption and security hardening of Nutanix systems
* Manage and execute ESXi upgrades, patches, and lifecycle operations
* Develop, document, and own processes and procedures to support CMMC certification efforts
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure infrastructure aligns with security and compliance standards
* As a Senior Server Engineer, you will provide mentorship and technical leadership to junior engineers
* Monitor system performance and implement proactive improvements
REQUIREMENTS:
* Proven experience in process engineering within IT infrastructure environments
* Demonstrated success in building virtual server environments from scratch
* Deep expertise in: Nutanix (including encryption and security configurations); VMware ESXi (installation, upgrades, and management); Windows Server administration; Broadcom technologies (e.g., SAN/NIC management)
* Strong understanding of CMMC compliance and experience implementing related controls
* Excellent documentation and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
* Relevant certifications (e.g., Nutanix NCP, VMware VCP, Microsoft Certified: Windows Server)
* Experience in regulated industries (e.g., defense, finance, healthcare)
* Familiarity with automation tools and scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Ansible)
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
